Claremont Fan Court School is an independent day school for children aged from 2½ to 18 years. The school is set in 99 acres of historic landscaped grounds of the Claremont Estate in Esher, Surrey.

Candiate Profile:
We are looking to appoint an experienced groundsperson to lead and work as part of the small, in-house grounds team in maintaining the grade l listed decorative landscape, lawns, paths, roads, woodlands and boundaries of the Claremont estate. As a school with an excellent sports offering, you will oversee the delivery of pitch maintenance by a contractor.

Educated to NVQ level 3 or above in horticulture you will have a detailed understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental management regulation. You will have previous management and leadership experience including budget planning and control. Experience of working

Essential requirements:

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 or above in horticulture
  • Detailed understanding of health and safety and environmental management regulation
  • Previous management and leadership experience
  • Fundamental budget planning and control experience

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience working in a school environment
  • Formal qualifications in use of horticultural equipment, including chainsaws and hedge-trimmers
  • Formal qualification in arboriculture
  • Driving licence with D1 capacity (or willingness to train)
