White Horse Contractors part of The Slatter Group, an industry leading specialist construction business based in Newbury, Berkshire are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their established team.
White Horse Contractors are a sector leading contractor in the sports turf and landscaping industry. Main purpose of job
To ensure that all projects are managed in a consistent, commercially aware and professional manner from initial enquiry through procurement, delivery completion and handover in accordance with White Horse Contractors Quality, Environmental and H&S Management Systems.
Relationships
Reporting to the Contracts Director, whilst working closely with the wider office team, site managers, foreman, directly employed site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Main tasks and responsibilities
As part of the contract management team working on various projects you will be expected to:

Deliver sports and landscape construction projects to the highest of standards.

Organise staff and sub contractors under your control.

Maintain company Health and Safety Standards on site, complying with company policy and legislative requirements; promote safety awareness, set an example.

Comply with environmental legislation/ regulations, company policy and minimise environmental impact of our activities.

Follow quality procedures and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Ensure economical and efficient use of company resources throughout all activities.
-
Maintain standards of excellence, ensuring the continuance of the company’s reputation and client satisfaction.

Manage client and customer relationships.
-
Manage supply chain relationships.
-
Produce project cashflow forecasts and job costing budgets.

Produce monthly valuations.
-
Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties. The role will evolve as you work to assist the team meet the overall business objectives of the Company.
Skills and attributes required

Proven experience in either the sports turf, landscape, or construction industry.
-
Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills to include networking, relationship building, negotiating, and influencing.

Organised, confident, self-disciplined, self-motivated, resourceful, and loyal.

Willingness to travel as required within the UK and further afield.

Based from our Head Office in Newbury, with regular site visits to our construction projects across the country as required. Hybrid working is possible.
