This role is set on a 40-hour working week with an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to work flexibly around evenings, bank holidays and weekends. This role will be largely based outside, with work expected to be carried out in a variety of weather conditions.

There are also three local park sites which the Club manages which you will be expected to maintain.

Essential requirements:

  • To have achieved NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Maintenance
  • To have achieved (or be working towards) NVQ Level 3 Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Horticulture, is desirable
  • Holding NTPC PA1, PA2, PA6 Spraying Certificates is desirable, the wiliness to work towards these if not currently held is essential
  • The successful candidate should have previous experience of working in a sporting environment, ideally at least five years’ experience as a Grounds person. Previous experience in tennis court maintenance is desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of all types of turf machinery
  • Can work well as part of a team or as an individual under your own initiative
  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Take pride in your work and achievements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good time management skills
