For pitches in the South and Midlands the orientation range of 285° to 20° would be appropriate.
For pitches in the North and Scotland a more appropriate range would be 315° to 360°.
An 'ideal' orientation for a winter pitch is 335° and this is what should be considered when new pitches are being designed and constructed.
