The Pitch Advisory Service, formerly the Grounds and Natural Turf Improvement Programme, was launched in 2014 and is funded by the GMA and its partners; the Football Foundation, Sport England, the FA, the ECB, the RFU, the RFL.
Its aim is to raise the standards of sports surfaces as well as the understanding of sports turf management practices among grassroots clubs across England and Wales. The PAS provides an enhanced network of support and expertise available to those maintaining natural turf pitches, particularly at a local level. The PAS is operated by a team that includes a Programme Coordinator, a Key Account Manager for each sport, a team of 8 Regional Pitch Advisors, 1 Senior Regional Pitch Advisory for football, and a Programme Administrator.
