In its everyday business operations the Grounds Management Association makes use of a variety of data about identifiable individuals, including data about: 

Current, past and prospective employees 
Members, Customers, Clients 
Users of its websites 
Other stakeholders 

In collecting and using this data, the organisation is subject to a variety of legislation controlling how such activities may be carried out and the safeguards that must be put in place to protect it. 

The purpose of this policy is to set out the relevant legislation and to describe the steps the Grounds Management Association is taking to ensure that it complies with it. 

This control applies to all systems, people and processes that constitute the organisation’s information systems, including board members, directors, employees and other third parties who have access to the Grounds Management Association systems.

Cookies

How we use cookies on this website.

A computer "cookie" is a small piece of information that is stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive or temporarily in your computer's memory. The Company uses temporary cookies to identify your current session when you make another request in the same session. These cookies are not stored permanently on your computer's hard drive and are erased when you close your browser. The Company also uses cookies permanently stored on your hard drive, for example to track play habits in order to better target online advertising on other Internet sites and to prevent surveys from being presented more than once. This technology allows the Company's third party advertising partners to recognise a browser's permanent cookie when a browser visits the Site. As mentioned above, you are always free to decline these cookies if your browser permits. The cookies allow us to learn which ads bring users to the Site. No personal data such as your name, address, telephone number or email address is collected by, or shared with, the Company's third party advertising partners. The information collected through the tracking technology is not directly attributable to you, it is simply aggregated so that the Company can learn who its most effective advertising partners are. When this information is used by our ad serving companies, such usage will be in accordance with the privacy practices of those companies. Permanent cookies are also used by some of our survey providers solely for tracking whether a user has been invited to participate in surveys before, and for tracking the answers. Our survey providers do not make any individuals' personal data available to third parties and/or unauthorised individuals or organisations. They do not sell lists or generate any third-party revenue from list or contact data that is collected through any online survey. On 25th May 2011 a number of amendments were made to the EU's Electronic Communications Framework — a directive that includes guidelines on the use of cookies on websites. The section of the directive dealing with cookies was drawn up in an attempt to protect privacy and, in particular, to administer the use of behavioural advertising.
