Applications open for GMA and Husqvarna ‘Get your Pitch right’ initiative

Applications for GMA and Husqvarna ‘Get your Pitch Right’ initiative now open.

Following the successful launch of the ‘Get your Pitch Right’ partnership between Husqvarna and the Grounds Management Association (GMA) in April, we are pleased to open applications for grassroots sports clubs.

The joint venture aims to enhance grassroots sports clubs and communities nationwide, by providing key products, training and expertise required to achieve the perfect pitch.

This new partnership was launched at the prestigious golf club The Grove by Husqvarna ambassadors Peter Crouch, Henry Slade and Kirsty Gallacher, who are extremely passionate about supporting grassroots sport and highlighting the importance of quality turf care on and off the pitch.

Many grassroots sports clubs rely on their invaluable volunteers, but they often don’t have the funds or resources to help maintain the community pitches, something that Husqvarna and the GMA together aim to change. Husqvarna will gift robotic mowers to selected grassroots clubs and communities who apply, enabling them to benefit from improved pitch maintenance and guidance provided by the GMA’s team of experts.

"We are excited to move forward with this next phase of our partnership with Husqvarna," said Geoff Webb, CEO at the GMA. "Our goal is to make a difference at the grassroots level, providing the tools, knowledge and education necessary to improve the grassroots pitches nationwide. By combining Husqvarna's cutting-edge technology with the GMA's expertise, we are confident that this initiative will set a new standard for pitch quality and sustainability in grassroots sports."

Hannah Cooper, Professional Marketing Manager at Husqvarna said: "The response following the announcement of this initiative has been excellent. We have been inundated with enquiries from sports clubs across the UK interested in applying. We know the challenges that grounds staff face in maintaining their playing surfaces and how valuable our robotic mowers are in alleviating many of these. Together with the expertise of the GMA, I'm confident we will make a real difference not only to the clubs themselves but also to the community around them to whom the facilities are so important."
