An update on the GMA Yorkshire Branch

Yorkshire Branch long-service thank you

The GMA gives its heart-felt thanks to David Robinson and Rod Heyhoe for the many years of invaluable service at the GMA Yorkshire Branch who now step down as vital members.

Both David and Rod have all been stalwarts within the industry and have generously volunteered their time on the Yorkshire Branch’s steering committee, as well as the GMA board, on GMA stands at SALTEX and BTME, and have supported the organisation on training courses and networking events.

Commenting on their long-standing commitment to the GMA, COO Jason Booth says: “In the light of Rod and David’s impending retirement I would like to thank them, on behalf of the GMA Board for their vital work in supporting the Yorkshire Branch. Their support has been unique and can’t be underestimated. They have engaged with so many GMA members and grounds volunteers over the years who have all benefited from their industry knowledge, expertise and kindness. I wish them well in their retirement.”

A note from Geoff Webb

"In the light of Rod Heyhoe and David Robinson's retirement from the GMA Yorkshire Branch, we would like to thank them both alongside David Hodgson and the many volunteers within the Branch. They have engaged with so many people over the years and we’re grateful for their hard work.

The support of those leading and connected to the Yorkshire Branch is a unique asset for the GMA. We know that others such as James Wright, Ryan Golding, Jason Booth have supported over the years and we’re grateful to everyone who has volunteered their time to keep the branch active.

A full GMA membership review has been commissioned and we have consulted widely with members as well as non-members – this includes reviewing the GMA’s approach to services branches and regions.

With the benefit of video meetings, we feel there will be more efficient ways to support and bring together branches and local communities in the future. As part of our diverse membership, we will also be launching Special Interest Groups over the next year to help tailor and personalise content or events.

For anyone interested in leading a GMA group, please express your interest to membership@thegma.org.uk."
